With the combination of surface planing and thicknessing machine type 546|100, the PANHANS brand offers a unique model that combines two woodworking machines with the space requirements of only one. Nevertheless, it offers the complete range of functions of a full-fledged thicknesser as well as a surface planer & jointer in both possible operating modes.

The unique selling point and the simultaneous economic advantage of this machine is that it does not have to be converted to change the operating modes. With just one turn of the mode switch, the machine can be converted from thicknesser to surface planing resp. jointing mode and vice versa.

This allows surface planing up to a maximum chip removal of 5 mm and thickness planing up to 8 mm on the full planing width of 630 mm. If required, the working area can also be divided by setting the planer fence to half the planing width and locking it in this position. This allows surface planing up to 315 mm wide at the front of the machine and thickness planing up to 315 mm wide at the rear of the cutter block.

The solid construction, precision, reliability and durability of the machine correspond to the conventional PANHANS thicknessers and surface planers of the 436|100 and 334|20 - 336|20 series. The same, exclusively stable and high-quality components are used here as well.

The machine has all the guards and safety devices prescribed by the “German Professional Trade Association for Wood” and is fully equipped. If required, it can be adapted to specific customer requirements with numerous special accessories and optional components.
